Katie Romano says her brother Nick always wanted to serve this country. The Greer graduate did that with two tours in Iraq. After returning home Nick was killed in a motorcycle accident. Katie says Nick had talked about wanting to donate his organs and his family knew this would be a way for something positive to come out of the tragedy. Nick was able to save several lives through the gift of life. The United Network for Organ Sharing just unveiled a Fallen Soldier Donor Memorial in Richmond, Virginia honoring those whose final act of service was the gift of life.
